You can have a blank name by using the following character: ‏‏‎ ‎
There are a whitespace and the blank character after the colon.

This gives you some advantages, for example your name does not show up above your head (because it's blank) and your name is also blank in the crew reports.
For the reports though you can generally tell if someone with a blank name is on it by looking how the names are spaced, but it's easy to miss.

You can still be voted on during the airlock sequences between stages, and you can be killed and interacted with during the game as normal.
